Blog Post #56- Errors Regarding The Final Clip

As the project is coming to an end, it is time to start wrapping up all my major tasks and minor tasks. When the filming of the final clip was occurring, the clip had to be filmed more than once because there were some errors regarding the initial filming of the clip.

When I initially filmed the clip, I thought that it came out alright and that I was done filming but when I rewatched the clip I noticed a few errors that could simply not be in the final cut. The first thing that I noticed is that the reflection of me recording a POV shot is visible through the reflection of the phone. I also noticed that the dialogue was slightly messed up within the clip. These 2 factors caused me to make the decision to refilm the clip a little differently to minimize errors.

Once I filmed the clip again I got a clip that did not contain any errors. Both the reflection issue and the dialogue issue were both fixed with the second recording of the clip. To fix the reflection off of the phone, I put the phone on the table rather than my left hand so the phone wouldn't be directly reflecting towards the recording device. To make sure the dialogue wasn't getting messed up during the recording I made sure to get my actors to practice their lines a few times before recording to make sure that there would not be any errors regarding the dialogue when I started filming the scene.

If the reduction of errors isn't focused on when creating projects such as a film, this could lead to a heavy decline on the quality of the project which is something I did not want to experience during the creation of my short film.
