Blog Post #53- Title Sequence for The Second Path
When viewers are watching my short film, I want them to get a reminder of what the title of the film is and to have the name of the film be present within the actual film. To do this, I added a title sequence to my film that would do these actions.
To create my title sequence, I actually made a small change to my editing software. I made the title sequence using CapCut instead of iMovie. This was because I think that CapCut has better text effects than iMovie does so this would work well for creating a title sequence. To make the title sequence, first I inserted a clip of a green screen into CapCut. After I did this, I selected an effect for the start of the clip to make the title sequence more eye catching for the audience. After this, I created a text box and typed in the title to my film. When I had the textbox, I adjusted the font of the text and I added a typing effect to the title. Since my title sequence showed the title by having a typing effect, I got an audio of a keyboard being typed on from YouTube and I inserted it into CapCut to finalize my title sequence.
After I finished creating the title sequence in CapCut, I then had to export it and upload it to iMovie to add it to the rest of my film. The reasoning behind the title sequence being green was because the color green can be associated with growth, which is also represented within the theme to my film because of the growth and maturation of the main character through out the film. To transition to and from the title sequence, I made the scene before the title sequence dissolve into it while when the title sequence ended I added a fade to black. These were used instead of straight cuts to make the transition to the title sequence not look instant and poorly edited which would negatively effect the audiences overall satisfaction with the short film.
