Blog Post #29- Testing Sounds

As I mentioned previously in a past blog, sound is an important element to a film that makes a film more entertaining and engaging so any film needs some sort of sounds within it to make it appeal more to the audience. Having this in mind I realized that I needed to test some sounds that I will be implementing into my final project for the purpose of seeing how well they work.

For the first sound that I will be testing, I will be using a Bluetooth speaker that I recently purchased for my film to see how well audio sounds on it to see if it can be included for my film. The Bluetooth speaker performed well because it allows for multiple different volumes to be used and the quality of the sound that it produces is good which is ideal for my film because I want the sound used within my film to be of high quality instead of lower quality sound that may not be as appealing to the audience. Below is a short snippet of the testing that I did that shows the sound quality of the speaker using the song "Shiawase (VIP)" by Dion Timmer.

For the second sound that I will be testing, I will be making a foley sound of a door knock. I will do this by knocking on my desk and recording it to see how well the sound of knocking on a door is mimicked by me knocking on my desk instead of my door. The knocking on the desk mimicked the sound of a door being knocked on very well and I think that I will be able to use this sound as a replacement for someone knocking on a door for my film.

These tests have now allowed me to know what I can use within my film to replicate certain sounds and to have sound usage that will be high quality and appealing to the audience.
