Blog Post #6- Marketing Campaigns

As discussed previously in my 5th blog post, marketing is very important for the success of films. While considering what I could do to market my film, I came to the idea that a marketing campaign on a social media platform such as Instagram could be very beneficial to the overall success of my project due to the audiences that can be reached through Instagram.

Marketing within a social media platform such as Instagram can include many different elements that all can benefit the success of the film. The first thing that a film company would need to do would be to create an account on Instagram to start creating posts. One of the elements that a film company could post would be teasers of the film. This can expose audiences to certain details of the film while leaving some areas up for speculation from the audience. This also creates excitement for the film from the audience. Updates of the production process can also be posted on Instagram. These could be images that are taken on set which shows what the film makers are doing to create the film. Film poster reveals can also be done through Instagram to further invoke excitement within the audience. The production company can also create discussions regarding the film that can be engaging for audiences. This is because audiences can communicate with other individuals with similar interests and they can communicate with the film makers on any concerns they may have or recommendations for the film. 

   

For my Instagram marketing campaign, I will most likely utilize every form of marketing that I mentioned above. On my Instagram account, I will make posts that show the production process of my short film. This will let the audience see some details regarding what was done for the creation of my short film. I will also include still images from the short film that allow the audience to see some elements of the film. As mentioned above, this will create excitement for the short film and will make the audience think about the significance that these details will have within the short film when it is fully released. My film posters initial release will also be done via Instagram. To make the marketing campaign more engaging, I will also start up discussions within the audience which can create discussions from the audience which may even contribute to new ideas for the short film.
