Blog Post #15- Research on postcard marketing for films

 As discussed before, I will need to market this short film so it can be exposed to my target audience. Although social media will be very effective to market my film I know that this simply wont be enough to fully expose my short film so I came to the conclusion that I would also need to create a postcard advertisement for my short film that will be shown at a film festival to reach the target audience. 

A postcard advertisement always has to have the title for the film. This is so the audience can know what the film is called and have a very general idea of what the film is about. The postcard should also include elements that are within the film such as images of characters or events that occur. This is so the audience can have an idea of what kind of events occur within the film and what the characters look like. Film festival selections are also very vital to a postcard advertisement for a film. This shows to the audience that the film is good enough to of entered into a film festival which makes the audience more likely to watch the film because they now view the film as a film with high quality. Positive reviews of the film also are used for this same purpose of convincing the audience that the film is worth watching. This is because the reviews show the audience that people such as themselves enjoyed the movie which can convince them to watch the movie as well. 

After commencing this research, I know now what I should implement into my postcard for my film so that I can successfully market my film to even more individuals who may or may not reside within the target audience. With this form of advertisement, I can showcase details of my film while also establishing credibility with the audience that the film is worth watching due to reviews and accomplishments that can emphasize to the audience that the film is something that is worth watching. I have not started the postcard currently due to the fact that I have not started production for my film but I will start the creation of my postcard post production of my film. When I do start creating my postcard I will make sure to look back on my research to make sure that I make a high quality postcard that serves its purpose of attracting more individuals to watch my film.
